Then in December we're driving to Phoenix, which will be great because we'll see our families, and also not so great, because driving more than an hour is painful and makes me sick! So we'll have to do it over two days probably, and stop often, but it'll be worth it.
Then the first weekend back to school in January I have my Metropolitan Opera audition in Salt Lake, for which I'm spit-polish preparing 5 difficult arias for... which are the Doll Song, the Willow Song, Regnava nel silenzio, Der Holle Rache, and Tornami a vagheggiar. English, German, Italian, and French (the Doll song is in French). Crazy hard pieces!!!! It's a performance style audition where judges from New York's Met come and find new talent. I have no expectations of going on in the competition- solely to sing well, and do something exciting during my senior year of college.
Then like two weeks after that, is BYU's Young Artist competition- the 25 top scoring vocalists from this term's juries compete for best female and best male vocalist of the year. Seniors usually make it, so I'm preparing for it.
Then in February, we'll have our opera scenes concert, which I expect to participate in, as well as a NATS competition, which I'm preparing 3 art songs for.
THEN COMES BABY! March will bring relaxation, one less class (because first-term will be over), no more competitions or performances, and baby. It'll be great! Then a month later, school will be out, and I'll be all done with my bachelor's degree, except for my senior recital which will probably be in May or June. I've picked most of the rep for it already, but not started working on much, since I have bigger, Metropolitan fish to fry before then.
So basically, 16 weeks away feels like a long time in light of everything that will happen before then!
And then for the baby, we still need to get a crib etc., and my friend Piper is throwing me a baby shower in February. And we also need to finish clearing out our second bedroom. Yesterday we rearranged and consolidated a lot of stuff in that room, but we still have some work to do. Mostly, we need to either find another place for our desk... (?) or just get rid of it.
Most of the acquiring of the baby things will probably have to be done before we leave for Phoenix for Christmas, because I expect to be very busy when we come back. AH!
Yay! I'm SOOOOO excited for you! I wish I was still there and could see your cute belly!
