Update: life

Here are various pics of our recent exploits!
Almond butter face!

Rowing on the pond.  Me and Jenni sang, "Row, row, row your boat," in a round over and over, and when we were finished Eddie made the sign for 'again'.  So we sang it over and over again.

This one is SO my fave!

Eddie loves sitting on the horsey.

Grandma's!

We are in Colorado!  We're having a good time with Gramma and GG (Great Grandma).

And Eddie had corn on the cob for the first time...

Friday, July 27, 2012

We harvested some of our crop.
More than half of them were eaten though, by the time we got inside.
 They were having fun.

My three huge caveman club size zucchinis and the only tomatoes left (my hand is for size reference)

I was playing baseball with my zucchini.

Then Eddie said, "Enh!" which means, take a picture of me too! So he posed, and we did.

Carnival!

All the little suburbs around here do a week of festivities each summer- Brigham City does Peach Days, Pleasant Grove does Strawberry Days, and American Fork does Steel Days.  The city will have pageants, carnivals, rodeos, parades, fireworks, dances etc., spanning from the beginning of the week to the end.  I went to the Pleasant Grove rodeo when it was here- see one of my recent posts. Today Greg, Eddie and I went to the carnival for the AF Steel Days and it was so fun!

This is Greg and Eddie going down a huge slide.

And this is my wonderful/amazing/awesome funnel cake!

And this is Eddie on a Donald Duck ride.

More pics and vids to come from Greg's phone once I upload them!

We spied a bunny while we were walking in the park today!!

Eddie and I went to a rodeo last night!  It was so fun.  It started with 2 and 3 year olds riding sheep!!!  They would set up as if they were riding a bronco, and then be let loose and the sheep  would leap and hop until the tot fell off! Then they would be scored like a regular cowboy. Then they tied money to baby cows and let all the kids 12 and under chase them in the arena to try to get it.  I'd never seen anything like it.

These are a couple of other pics I took of the munchkin since he was lookin' so cute.

I walked into his room to find him like this...

When I said, "Say cheese!" he TOTALLY stopped and posed for the camera. I took a video too but it's being funny and won't upload.

Some videos from San Jose.... Grandpa was trying to get Eddie's attention from the second story window- but Eddie couldn't figure it out. It was funny.

And this is from today- we were so bored!!

New pics..

This is of Jordan when he was little. I think Eddie looks so much like him!

This is Eddie, playing in box that's way too little.

This is my garden- it's totally growing!

I have a couple zucchinis already!
I put netting around my strawberry plants.  The girl at the store told me it had very narrow holes, but she was wrong and the holes are huge! So the birds just fly right through them and still eat all my strawberries.

I have just found the most incredible, helpful, pornography addiction recovery website----EVER!!

It's called rowboatandmarbles.org.  GUYS. If you or a loved on has dealt with this- I can honestly say that you will find help on this website.  I know that sounds like a huge promise, but I'm making it.  Start with the essays on the right hand side- scroll down a little bit to find them.

The first four essays to read are: Sitting in a rowboat throwing marbles at a battleship, The ABCs of Addiction, A Letter to LDS Wives About Pornography, and Muck Fires in My Brain.  Just these four alone will illuminate so much.

I know we've all read so many General Conference talks and articles, and have heard to pray more, be more contrite, read scriptures more, confess to bishops and loved ones, get therapy, etc., etc. The list goes on, and addicts are doing all these things, so why are they still addicted? They may even go years between relapses only to realize afterward they never really were in recovery, but just white-knuckling it all along.

The writer highlights four main things that an addict needs to be doing; professional, one-on-one therapy (with a therapist who is GREAT and specializes in sexual addictions- a regular marriage therapist WON'T cut it); attending meetings at Sexaholics Anonymous (SA), which is different than the church's Pornography Addiction Support Group (PASG) because all the studies show that PASG is just not working the way it is supposed to, and SA is turning out to be incredible effective; working with one's ecclesiastical leader; and confessing relapses and being open and honest with your spouse if you are married, or parent or close family member or friend if you are not.  The message is that people who try to recover alone necessarily will FAIL! And the only people who are recovering (for good!!!!!!!!) are the people who are doing ALL four of these things.

So DO IT! Go to this website. Real, lasting, peace and recovery are possible. Check it out for yourself or a loved one- SERIOUSLY!

Hey, what are you still doing here???!?!?!? Go to rowboatandmarbles.org.

Fixed my planter.

So, witness my cucumber plants there on the bottom right-hand side.  They're dead.

DEAD!!!
The rest of the plants are doing great, but within two days of planting these ones, they were totally gone.

So I replaced them with pretty broccoli plants, and added blackberry plants at the back left (the ones with the sticks) and now my planter looks totally pretty and green again.

Blackberries...

Swinging!

The other day Eddie and I played in our neighbor/ex-bishop-from-our-student-ward's backyard.  It was fun. We jumped on the trampoline, rolled in the soft grass, ran up and down the hill, and swung on the swings.  That was Eddie's favorite.

Playing outside

The other day, Eddie was positively bouncing off the walls with cabin fever.  And the best remedy for that is obviously to go play outside and get wet.

Picnic up Cedar Hills Canyon

Me and Eddie went hiking and had a picnic in the national forest up the canyon.  We met another little boy there who was picnicking with his grandparents who Eddie could not resist trying to mingle with.

All done!

Eddie said "all done" a few times in this video. Of course as soon as I stopped recording he said it like twenty times in a row...but at least you can hear it a few times.

Home-grown food comin' right up!

So our planter is pretty much done!! This morning Greg went and got dirt from this wholesale place in West Jordan and we filled our box for only $20!  So much better than the $120+ that that much soil was going to cost from Home Depot.  We fit eight plastic totes in the back of the Jeep, and six were good soil, and two were AWESOME, black, wood chippey ones that we put on top.

Eddie watched and played in his play pen while trying to surreptitiously snag a broom handle.  He really likes those right now...

But then he got bored in there so I put him in the boxes- much funner, apparently.

Greg helped me plant all my fruits and veggies.  We have cherry tomatoes, jalapenos, red peppers, cucumber, zucchini, romaine lettuce, strawberries, raspberries, and my blueberries will go in the empty space on the left-hand side.

Eddie finally got picked up by Daddy.

Here are some of my plants all cozy in their new home:
